Corporate e-ID – enterprises need to register by 30 June 2025

Enterprises advised to be prepared for corporate e-ID registration

On 13 February 2025, the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment (DPI), which has since been merged into the Department of Finance, issued Notice No. 207/TB- DKKD. This requires businesses, organisations, and individuals to update and supplement the identification (ID) information of their legal representatives, capital-contributing members, heads of dependent units, and business owners.

The Notice was issued further to the former MPI’s plan to issue corporate e-ID to at least 80 per cent of all operating enterprises and cooperatives by 30 June 2025.

To issue a corporate e-ID, the ID information of the legal representative of the enterprise in the National Business Registration Portal (NBRP) must match his/her ID information in the National Database on Population. In cases of a mismatch, enterprises must first update the information in the NBRP as per the guidance of the DPI.

To carry out the update, enterprises must send a request (using the standard form) to update the registered information to the local business registration office (BRO) according to Article 63.2(a) of Decree 01/2021/ND-CP. Enterprises are requested to complete this update by 30 June 2025.

After completing the update, the enterprise’s legal representative should ask for an e-ID for the enterprise using his/her digitally authenticated level-2 account on VNeID (Vietnam Electronic Identification). It should take around three working days to issue a corporate e-ID account, if the information in the National Database on Population matches that in the NBRP.

Pursuant to Article 16 of Decree 69/2024/ND-CP, the Director of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Ministry of Public Security) has the authority to issue e-ID accounts for enterprises.

A corporate e-ID is a unique digital identity assigned to a specific enterprise within the electronic identification and authentication system. It facilitates secure and verifiable identification in the digital environment. In light of growing digitalisation and digital transformation, where state agencies handle more and more administrative procedures online, enterprises are encouraged to proceed with e-ID registration.
